Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be met by your GM Expeditions driver-guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Depending on your arrival time, you can relax at the lodge or enjoy a short guided bird walk in the hotel gardens.
Optional Add-on: Visit a local market or cultural center.

After breakfast, you’ll either drive or take a scenic bush flight to the Central Serengeti, famous for its abundance of wildlife year-round. Upon arrival, you’ll begin your first game drive en route to the lodge. The central region (Seronera Valley) is rich in big cats and provides excellent chances to see lions, cheetahs, and leopards.
Wildlife to Expect: Lions, hyenas, elephants, giraffes, and the beginning herds of the migration depending on the season.

Spend the full day on a game drive in Central Serengeti. Depending on the migration path, you’ll track herds of wildebeest and zebra. Your guide will lead you through wildlife corridors and known predator areas. Picnic lunch is served under the shade of acacia trees or near the river.
Highlights: Cheetahs on the hunt, leopard sightings near kopjes, and hippos in the Seronera River.
Optional: Sunrise hot air balloon safari (additional cost)

After an early breakfast, depart for the Ndutu region (Southern Serengeti), famous for the calving season (Dec–Mar). This area is part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and provides some of the best wildlife viewing during migration months.
On the way, enjoy game drives and changing scenery—from grassland to woodland.
Highlights: Large predator presence due to vulnerable young calves during calving season.

Spend a full day exploring the rich plains of Ndutu, where wildebeest calving occurs during the early months of the year. This period sees intense predator action, as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas take advantage of the herds.
You’ll explore both Lake Ndutu and Lake Masek, ideal for birdwatching and wildlife photography.
Optional: Visit the Olduvai Gorge (prehistoric site) en route.
Accommodation: Same as Day 4
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Enjoy a short morning game drive to Ngorongoro and exit the park. Then, transfer to Ndutu or Seronera airstrip for a bush flight to Arusha (optional), or begin the scenic drive back with stops for lunch and local souvenirs.
Once in Arusha, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or taken directly to the airport for your international flight.
